It has been a busy year and sadly it has come to an end! Some of the kids in Room 7 will be moving on to new classes - some will stay with Whaea Pam !! WOOHOO! We are moving to Room 6 so watch this space for a new blog in 2013!

Remembrance Day
The Minutes Silence is when you remember the people that went to war. Every time I do the Minutes Silence it makes me think of one of my family that went to the war for freedom. This way I can love him even though I never met him.

In war people use heart values. When people go to war they are confident and brave and strong. They can shoot far in an instant. They can play a bugle it sounds fantastic, cool, amazing and fabulous. Its sad when people get shot and others cry and cry. Poppy's grow when people pass on. When people come out of war they get medals and people run to them when they go home.

On Remembrance Day we always do the minute silence to remember the soldiers who went fighting in the war. You have to shut your eyes while you are doing the one minute silence. You need to show heart and remember the men who went fighting in the war.

PB4L HEART Values Assembly and Disco
We had an awesome Assembly and disco to celebrate the launch of our whole school HEART values. We show - Honesty, Empathy, Aroha, Respect and Teamwork at Russell. Most of all we have fun together!! Thanks to all the people who helped make our disco great!

Russell School made the National News on Friday! We had an awesome week celebrating Samoan Language Week and 50 years of Samoan Independence. We will be posting up lots of pictures of our work this week ...so watch this space!
Term 2 is underway!!! We have had a lovely, restful holiday and are raring to go this term!! We are learning all about Forces and Energy this term! Whaea Lucy is with us for the next few weeks in Room 7 too. We are looking forward to her teaching us all about our NZ weather. She already made beautiful Samoan Siapo patterns with us! We can't wait for Samoan Language Week and the Samoan Independence Celebration in Week 6! Bring it On Term 2!!

Term 1 has been amazing!
We have learned so much this term! Most of all we are all settled into our class routines and we are working together as a team!! We have worked on our first value - TEAMWORK - we know what that looks like and sounds like! We finished our term by having an Easter Egg Hunt! Some of our groups had lots and lots of eggs but other groups had hardly any! We decided to share our eggs equally across the class so that every group could take some home in their little Easter baskets that we made! We love to share!!
