Its a time to think about a New Year Resolution - mine is to eat less and exercise more!! What might you have as a goal for the New Year ahead?

Looking forward to all the exciting things we will do in 2012 Room 7!

The most important thing to me is being loyal

Our rugby team was training and the Tawa rugby team took my best mate, they beat him up.  When they went, he was hurt; he didn’t look good.  His nose was purple, it was bruised and bleeding.  So I picked him up and said “Let’s go to the coach and ring the ambulance”.  I felt sad, the other team were wrong, that’s not rugby; it’s fighting.

Read Joseph's awesome Powerpoint about Scotland

For homework this week we had to present facts about our chosen Rugby World Cup Country - Scotland. Joseph is a real homework hero! He made a cool powerpoint about Scotland - Whaea Pam even felt a wee bit homesick reading it!! Well done Joseph!!

Our Te Papa Trip

Last week on  Thursday 16th June Whanau Awhinatia hopped on a bus and made their way to Te Papa in Wellington. We went to learn about Matariki and what it means to the Maori culture. When we got there we had morning tea outside. After everyone ate we went inside and we sat in a little area.Later we met Keryn and Riria who were the people that were going to teach us about Matariki. I felt excited because Matariki is a very interesting subject to learn about. I really enjoyed the Star Lab and the Pasifika Patterns but what I didnt enjoy was the bus ride because I felt sick and it was too loud. I learned how to find Matariki using the stars and what shapes you can see like the Fish and hook. I want to find more information about how special Matariki was to the Maori's back then and I also want to learn more about other cultures. It was a lovely day and I hope everyone had fun.

Welcome to Room 9

Russell School Rocks! The new term has started and we all are exited about learning!
